Things to do over the Easter Holidays in Caernarfon

Why not visit Caernarfon this Easter where there are plenty of places events you wouldn’t want to miss!

If its history you’re after Caernarfon Castle has it. Caernarfon Castle, a World Heritage Site from 11th century, is one of the most impressive castles in Wales.

For World Heritage Day, come and celebrate over 30 years of the castles World Heritage status.

Experience the sights and sounds of 19th century warfare, as the 23rd Royal Welch Fusiliers Regiment of Foot marches into Caernarfon Castle and sets up camp. Collectively, Beaumaris, Conwy, Caernarfon and Harlech castles together with the fortifications surrounding the towns of Conwy and Caernarfon, are declared as a World Heritage Site, with the finest examples of military in Europe. At the time they were built their designers were considered ground breaking and the structural magnificence remains as imposing as ever.

Looking for some family fun? Why not try the Dragon’s Easter Egg Quest, where you will be taught how to use a bow and arrow as you explore the hallways of the castle to find the dragon’s lair and earn your Easter egg surprise.

If archery interests you, why not pop along to the have-a-go Archery Day, where you will meet the Red Dragon Archers from Caernarfon where they will explain the history of the longbow as well as provide instruction on how to shoot a bow. There is also the opportunity to learn how to load and fire a trebuchet and to see how an arrowhead is made.

Climb Snowdon is a full day walk on Yr Wyddfa/Snowdon, using the Pyg Track up and the Llanberis Path down (approx.. 9 miles in total).
