What to do when it rains in North Wales?

The sun may not always be out in North Wales, but even on a wet and rainy day you can have a huge amount of fun without getting soaked. From underground cave trampolines, indoor go-carting to interesting museums, there is something for everyone.

Bounce Below, Zip World Blaenau Ffestiniog

Trampolines are great fun in themselves. When you place huge suspended trampolines inside an underground Victorian slate cavern, you find quite possibly the most unique activity in the world. Located in the same area as Zip World Titan, if the weather is good you can knock off two of the most incredible activities in North Wales, whilst staying in our hotel near Zip World.

Inigo Jones Slateworks, Y Groeslon

This slate works has a number of interesting features that are worth checking out, including a replica of an original waterwheel. Activities that you can enjoy here include engraving a piece of Welsh slate.

Inigo Jones Slate works offers a self-guided tour around the works that is accompanied by audio commentary around the workshops; showrooms open from 9am to 5pm every day.

Anglesey Sea Zoo

Whilst the sea may be a wet and windy place when you visit here, the sanctuary confines of this excellent sea zoo on Anglesey will provide you the indoor shelter to experience some of the most interesting features found in our seas. From elegant sea horses to jaw dropping sharks, the Anglesey Sea Zoo will give you an up close, dry and undeniably interesting view of the sea inhabitants. Marine wildlife combined with daily talks ensures that you have an excellent experience at one of the best attractions in North Wales.

The Fun Centre, Caernarfon

This converted church is a well equipped and fun packed ‘fun centre’ that is absolutely perfect for children to play in on a rainy day. This very large play area features a 25ft high drop slide, ball pools, spinning steps over three floors and a café for adults to relax in whilst they go off and play.

Redline Indoor Go-Karting, Caernarfon

If you’re after that adrenaline fix when it’s raining but can’t accesses the likes of Zip World, indoor carting is the place to go. Open from Monday to Friday 12pm-7pm, Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 6pm. Perfect for groups, this activity is one that can be enjoyed by all.

Go Below, Snowdonia

Go Below underground to experience an adventure like no other. Taking shelter of those rainy days, going below will allow you to explore a mountain through a series of challenges, through caverns, beams and abseiling; you will go to the deepest point in the United Kingdom.

Llechwedd Slate Caverns, Blaenau Ffestiniog

The Slate Caverns are Victorian mines that take you on the steepest cable railway in the whole of Britain, taking you hundreds of feet underground. This is a popular activity for families and is open come rain or shine. Situated in the heart of Snowdonia, heading over to this attraction gifts you a wonderful scenic drive – followed by a memorable, breathtaking mine tour experience.
