Parking options:

  • There is a chargeable car park next to the Inn (subject to availability).
  • Blue Badge Holders: free to park in the car park next to the Inn.
  • Free Permit (subject to availability): Available from reception for Slate Quay car park, parking there without a ticket will result in a fine being issued so please come to us first.

By car

Get ready to explore the magic of Snowdonia, with Black Boy Inn as your cozy home! We’re conveniently located within the historic town walls on Northgate Street (postcode LL55 1RW). 

Once in Caernarfon:

  1. Follow signs for Victoria Dock (not the town centre)
  2. As you reach the docks (on your right), look straight ahead. Through the town walls, you’ll spot the Black Boy Inn.
  3. Park the car next to the swings and call in to see reception, we will help you with your parking options.

By rail

Skip the traffic and embrace the scenic route! The Black Boy Inn is easily accessible by train, with Bangor mainline station just a 15-minute drive away.

  • Bangor station: Served by trains from major cities like Chester, Crewe, Manchester, London Euston, Cardiff, and Holyhead.
  • Direct trains: Enjoy a comfortable journey from London Euston in just 3 hours and 20 minutes (available at certain times).
  • Easy onward travel: Taxis and buses conveniently connect you from Bangor station to the heart of Caernarfon and your cosy home at the Black Boy Inn.

By air

By sea. Stenaline, Irish Ferries.

Easily reached from Ireland via the port of Holyhead, and an excellent road network.

From Holyhead take the A55 leaving J9 (first exit after Britannia Bridge) onto the A487, following signs for Caernarfon.

Foot passengers, onward travel is available from Holyhead to Bangor by train and takes 30 minutes, and then Bangor to Caernarfon by bus 20 minutes.
